Our case has a defect that needs to be repaired. Housing made of PP + GF 10. We use a stationary welding machine model - AT-951 for repair. It is a handy box welder that works best for this type of repair. On previous recordings you could see how we use a PLASTIC STITCHER, where we used a kind of stiffening of the elements - so that we could start welding.

At the beginning, we set the appropriate temperature - it is best to use the table for a given material - this knowledge will allow us to correctly weld the elements.

In addition, it is worth looking at the table with the use of materials for the appropriate elements: (click and download the table).

In our case it will be 300 degrees and exhaust on level 4. Provided with the appropriate binder (in our case PP + GF), we start welding. We check whether the binder is melting. If so - we start welding.

The handle of the AT-951 welder is comfortable, which makes welding comfortable.

After welding, cut off excess wire - for aesthetic reasons. If necessary, we can proceed to painting. Remember that the most important advantage of this device is that you do the whole repair yourself. No second person's help is needed here.

In the full 15-minute recording you will be able to see how other binders, such as PP-U or PP, performed in our tests.

Before starting welding, we need to determine the type of a given material. As a rule, it is very simple, because it is enough to read the symbols and have the appropriate package of binders. And while we're on this topic, let's ask ourselves - what are the most popular materials in car lamps? You don't have to look anywhere, because below we will present you a list of such materials:

  • PP (mainly housings)
  • PMMA (usually: lamp glass - tinted)
  • PC (usually: lamp panes - transparent)
  • ABS
  • PPT20
  • PPT40

A non-weldable material such as UP-GF may be used. Then use Acralock 1-15 NAT glue by sticking a piece on the reinforcement.
