We have shown the welding of polypropylene using the example of 10-12 mm thick PP plates

We presented PP welding on a plastic welder, which some of you already know, namely - a high-power plastic welder such as BOSITE-D. For this we need to remember the PP binder string.

For welding PP, you will also need nozzles:

  • narrowing nozzle 5 mm
  • pre-welding nozzle - the so-called strapping, which will pre-join the elements before welding.
  • quick welding nozzle - in a triangular form for a wire in this shape.

Rippers, scrapers and a grinder with sandpaper will also be useful. Why? This is necessary for proper strengthening and strength - that is, surface preparation (see the video for more). The collected oxides from the surface of the material will make our work easier. We start work with a narrowing nozzle and a pre-welding nozzle. We set the temperature within 350 degrees Celsius. An important element is proper heating of the device. So let's wait 2-3 minutes for the nozzle to reach the right temperature.

PP welding - with Bosite-D device and pre-welding nozzle. Pay attention to the angle of the welding machine.

In the next stage, we will weld on the melted surface that we are preparing. It is best to join the element on both sides to increase its strength. Remember that the plastic welder should be at an angle of 45 degrees. After the initial strength, change the nozzle to quick welding and then measure the appropriate length of the binder for the element to be welded, taking into account about 5 cm of excess.

The next step in welding is the application of the quick welding nozzle.

Unnecessary binder (excess) that has to be cut off to sand or paint surfaces. It all depends on whether we care about the aesthetic aspects of the surface / material. In the video tutorial - you can also see the swing method without the use of the above-mentioned nozzles.
