Which plastic welder to choose?

A few tips on what to look for when choosing and finally the most important question: "What plastic welder to buy?"

Before making the decision to choose a welding machine, there are a few questions to consider:

 

• what works it is intended for (indoors or outdoors)
• how often will it be used? (sporadically, several hours, continuous work)
• what thickness of elements will be welded (thin, thick)

 

When choosing a welding machine, you should consider whether it is bought for:

 

• private use
• use in the workshop
• industrial welding.

 

Private use - when we buy a welder for ourselves, in most cases it does not have to be strong equipment, we have time to weld the repaired element for a while longer, not like in a workshop where every minute counts. Models for each other can be even the cheapest AT8032, 858D + or 852D + models or from much more efficient welding machines AT3500 or AT4000 which can also be used as a welding machine for repairing tarpaulins.

Use in the workshop - the welding machine for the workshop must already be a device and it must be more efficient and better, the equipment must earn for itself and for us. The minimum in this case is AT-3500 and only if welding will take place, for example, once or twice a day, or as a supplement to more powerful devices such as the Bosite-D or Bosite-S model, with which there will be no problems even with thick walls e.g. from agricultural tanks from sprayers or from thick cold stores of troughs from trucks. A special exception of the workshop are laptop services and workstations where small small elements will be welded, then the AT951 model will be the best choice.

 

Industrial welding - the priority here is welding efficiency due to the fact that the walls of welded tanks, plates, etc. are 4-5mm. thick up. The best choice so far, not only from the Bosite offer, but also on the market, is the already mentioned Bosite-D due to the minimum electronics and the highest efficiency of this type of welding machines, i.e. up to 280 l / min. For stationary workplaces where mobility is less important, and more comfort and less fatigue, we recommend the Bosite-S model, which has the same parameters as the Bosite-D model, but the heating element is separated from the blower by a long hose.

How to weld plastic? - overview of the most popular models

 

The list below shows the most popular plastic welding machines with a brief overview.

 

1. AT-858D + plastic welder

 

Known for a popular model dedicated especially to beginners. What has changed since the beginning of 2019 is the ability to weld up to 500 degrees Celsius! However, the cheapest welding machine in our list is not the worst. It works well with basic elements such as garden elements, small household appliances, electronics, - usually thin elements. It is worth getting acquainted with this model and starting your adventure with welding plastics. If you need a device that you will use several times a month, you will not be disappointed.

 

2. AT-852D + plastic welder

 

If you have a slightly larger budget, add a few dozen zlotys more and choose this model. The main difference is the feed pump which gives more pressure. This translates into slightly better performance of this plastic welder. In addition, the devices perform just as well and can be used for similar jobs.

 

 

3. AT-600 plastic welder

This is a novelty in our list. Unlike the above two models, the appearance of the device changes - the buttstock instead of the box. Very good equipment, even for frequent repairs. The temperature that we can reach is as high as 600 degrees. The device is comfortable and light, so you do not tire your hand. The equipment is recommended for precise repairs, slow and also requiring accuracy. It can be combined directly with the AT-951 plastic welder, so it is also suitable for repairs in the automotive industry.

 

4. Welder for plastic / AT-4500 welding machine

 

This is the fourth model in our list. Another different structure, this time angular. This 2 in 1 machine. It is a plastic welder and heat sealer. It can easily be used as a banner or tarpaulin welder. Just fit the appropriate replacement nozzles and you can work while welding the materials. When it comes to hard plastics, welding of plastics and even PVC carpets is also not a problem for this device. The temperature setting and the air outlet are adjusted accordingly with 3 gears.

NOTE: The device is completely replaced by the AT-4000 model.

5. Welder for plastic / BOSITE - DL welding machine

 

Definitely the best and most professional device in this list. The equivalent of a Bosite-D plastic welder - additionally equipped with a digital display. Thanks to this, we can set the desired temperature down to 1 degree. The device will remember the operating temperature after it is turned off, which is applicable for day-to-day work. An additional car is automatic cooling. We can work intensively with this model. Weld plastics at home, workshop, automotive plants and work without worrying about the equipment, because it meets all the requirements of a professional device.

Hardware is not everything. To start work, you need the necessary materials with which to start working. In the world of welders, they are called differently: bundles, welding wires, plastic binders, fuses, etc.
