What glue we chose for gluing Teflon.

Teflon belongs (next to PP and PE) to polyolefins and plastics. Fortunately, there is one glue on the market for this material that performs very well in terms of strength.

This is Acralock PP 1-02 adhesive. Two-component methacrylic adhesive.

For those who do not believe how the glue has proven itself in tests - we invite you to watch the video test at the bottom of this article.

We made the following samples:

  • teflon with teflon,
  • rubber with teflon,
  • aluminum with teflon,
  • steel with teflon,

To start gluing, we need: a squeezer in the 1: 1 system and a mixer necessary to properly mix the ingredients.

Before the gluing process itself, all elements have been cleaned and degreased. We also used light pressure. You can also use spacer balls.

How strong is Teflon glue? - i.e. endurance tests.

Teflon with Teflon - perfect strength. We failed to tear by hand despite bending and twisting.

Teflon with steel - we bend only steel. We are unable to separate the two materials from each other.

Teflon with albumin - the aluminum angle also refused to tear.

Teflon with rubber - we tear the rubber remains from the Teflon, so the most positive result. The glue stays on both surfaces.

Summarizing: At the moment, Acralock PP 1-02 adhesive is the best Teflon adhesive in the world. This applies to connections with each other and with other materials. Its durability has been confirmed in the video below, which you can watch on Youtube. Of course, the glue works well not only with Teflon, but also with materials such as PP, PE, POM, metals, composites, etc.

If you decide to buy it - remember to keep it in the refrigerator.
