Today you will learn about advertising adhesives or adhesives used dedicated to the advertising industry.

Below we will analyze the individual materials:

Gluing tapes of 3D letters to the forehead of plexiglass

RWe examine 2 cases, i.e. a tape with and without a plastic insert.

1. Plastic tape inside

We use Acralock CC 10-10 glue, fixing the whole thing on the table to bind the glue.

2. A 3d tape without an insert, i.e. a cut steel, aluminum or ready-made ribbon, painted from the outside and / or inside.

The best solution is Acralock SA 10-15 WHT - we apply a thin glue groin which will not be visible when illuminated - because the glue is perfectly snow-white and reflects light. Of course, the glue itself can also be used for gluing if we have a tape with a plastic insert.

Bonding of dibond and aluminum panels.

We have been using Acralock SA 10-15 BLK for this bonding for a long time. We perform the work in the following way:

- we cut the appropriate pieces,

- we put the coffer together - support the corners or stick it with paper tape so that the whole thing sticks until the glue binds,

- we apply the glue in the groin area so that after dragging it with a spatula, an aesthetic slant is made - about 1 cm,

- after setting the glue, we can assemble the rest of the elements.

Advice:

In the case of raw / anodized aluminum surfaces, we can reduce the amount of glue by gluing 2-3 cm "angle sections". every 8-10cm,

- we use an ordinary grouting spatula or a silicone spatula with the tip cut diagonally.

Sticking plexiglass in dibond or aluminum panels.

That is, sticking plexiglass on the inside of the board. Here we use 2 types of glue:

The latest Acralock GB 10-10 glue - glue without any primers, primers, etc. All you need to do is degrease the surface with alcohol and if the aluminum is of poor quality / unknown origin, rub with AP1 etchant, then apply the glue and press it. We have 10 minutes for applying and pressing. We will obtain initial gluing after 30-40 minutes.

In the case of very large elements, we use ATK 812 glue. We have more time to apply, but the glued surfaces need to be coated with a special ATK P200 primer.

Important:

In the case of a very poor quality board, the so-called "dibond" - currently appearing in Poland, where the aluminum layer is "paper thick", we use Acralock GB 10-10 or we use ATK 812.

Sticking letters to facades and walls:

We are talking about gluing letters made of styrodur, plexiglass or dibond - a composite board for:

- raw brick

- plaster (raw and painted)

- concrete

- stone

We glue ATK 812, remembering to coat plexiglass and dibond with ATK P200 primer. When the surface of the wall is absorbent, e.g. concrete, then also apply unburnt bricks.

Remember that the adhesive has an initial setting from 1-4 hours. Therefore, in order not to have to hold and make fastenings in several places, we glue the adhesive in the form of a tape or stick it with ATK PU 16 glue with the initial setting time approx. 15-30 minutes.

Gluing letters from styrodur or polystyrene to plexiglass and / or dibond

A proven adhesive for many years is ATK PU 021 (formerly MEGA021). Two-component adhesive in a thin or thick form - here it is a matter of choosing which one we want to use. We degrease the surfaces, mix the glue and apply it completely - this is the most recommended application. There is a second method, i.e. ATK 812 - one-component adhesive, however, we apply ATK P200 primer on plexiglass and dibond. Remember to apply the glue with thin lines which, when pressed, will leave a space - make a gap between one and the other line of glue because the glue needs air.

Tip:

We advise against "shop" adhesives for these surfaces because in many cases the elements simply fall off and subsequent repairs / servicing are very high costs, not to mention the danger of falling letters. (We have too many cases of companies that lost a lot of time and money before cooperating with us on warranty repairs).
