Adhesive for car bumpers

We often come across questions about what glue should be used for cracks in car bumpers. To help you out, we decided to record a new video tutorial in which we will show you the perfect solution when it comes to glue for car bumpers. In our case, the crack is about 5-7 cm. Traditionally, you need to start work with surface preparation. For this activity, we perform:

• several holes in the fracture line, e.g. with a drill
• we mill and grind the surfaces 2-3 cm from the crack in order to remove the varnish.
• Finally, degrease the surfaces in the place where we sanded and on the sides - on both sides.

Surface preparation is crucial prior to bonding.

 

When the surface is prepared and cleaned on both sides, we start gluing. The best solution will be the ATK-PU (MEGA-PU) two-component glue in the 5-minute black variety. If someone needs more time - there is also a 15-minute version.

 

The glue is available in 50 ml or 490 ml containers. A mixer is included that combines the two ingredients. (1: 1). Of course, we will also need:

• lemon squeezer,
• a reinforcing mesh that we glue - preferably it should be flexible,
• a piece of thicker foil - for easier rubbing of the glue,
